The development of e-Urtica
New features designed to meet users’ real needs
Knowledge and education
Knowledge Module 01
Expert content for pharmacists
e-Urtica is no longer just an operational tool. The ‘Knowledge’ module has become a hub for expert content, industry articles and educational materials designed to support pharmacists in their day-to-day work and professional challenges.
Knowledge in one place
The module is co-produced by the editorial team of ‘Hospital Pharmacoeconomics’. Users have access to a selection of articles, analyses of treatment efficacy, information on legal regulations and innovations in hospital pharmacy – all in the very place where they carry out their day-to-day professional duties.
Day-to-day collaboration
Price Enquiry Module 02
Faster access to information on price and availability
Users can obtain information about product availability and prices in a clearer way.
Appendices and lists of enquiries
You can attach, amongst other things, Excel files and lists of products requiring a quote to the form.
Products not included in the database
The portal also allows users to report products that are not included in the standard database.
An approach to development
Technology that meets real needs 03
- Every new feature is designed with the realities of users’ day-to-day work in mind.
- The portal’s development priorities are based, amongst other things, on the needs identified in regular surveys.
Education
Webinars for hospital pharmacists
Accreditation standards
The first webinar focused on the latest accreditation standards from a practical perspective and on the role of the clinical pharmacist in quality processes.
The meeting was led by Kamila Urbańczyk, MSc (Pharm.), Magdalena Wieczorek and Piotr Łój. Participants were given practical advice and examples illustrating how a pharmacist can support accreditation processes and the quality of care.
Side effects
The second meeting focused on the practical aspects of adverse reactions observed in a hospital setting.
Nearly 200 pharmacists took part in the webinar, and Dr Adrian Bryła, PhD (Pharm.), discussed, amongst other things, drug interactions, polypharmacy in geriatric patients, monitoring treatment safety and reporting adverse reactions.
Each webinar concluded with a knowledge test, and participants who passed received certificates and continuing professional development points.
Digitalisation
Technology to support the day-to-day running of care homes
Digitalisation is a key area of development for Urtica and a practical way of promoting medication safety. This approach has given rise to e-Urtica, which automates and streamlines key processes relating to the circulation of medicines, thereby supporting compliance, quality and the safety of treatment.
You can also read about the role of this solution in an article published in the ‘UN Global Compact Network Poland Yearbook’.
The portal is also being developed with a view to systemic changes – with the roll-out of the National e-Invoicing System, authorised users will be able to download their own invoices directly from the platform.
Such solutions result in greater convenience in day-to-day work, consistency in document workflows, a lower risk of errors and better preparedness of branches for regulatory changes.
Further development
e-Urtica is growing alongside the industry
e-Urtica is evolving in line with the pharmaceutical sector and its growing demands. Healthcare professionals – in addition to the tools they need for their work – require access to reliable information and support in keeping pace with systemic changes.
Urtica’s values – People, Knowledge and Responsibility – are reflected in the development of the portal and its new features.
e-Urtica supports users in their day-to-day work, responds to the industry’s needs and grows alongside it.
This is just the beginning.
